Bump to Juliana

It is raining this morning & when I arrived at the station, I saw Juliana, Jaya baru’s daughter. Have a quick chat, she asked whether I’m married, and I said no, not yet. She planned to go back on Jan, and offered whether I had any stuff that I need to send home. I said no and thanked her. She was with this bald guy with the name of felix or something. Working in the city @ Collin st.

Securing Debian

I thought my Debian is secure, hell it is not at all, I missed the security package. Just added
deb http://security.debian.org/ sarge/updates main contrib non-free
in my /etc/apt/sources.list file.
and I need to update 140 over Meg of files. Need to be more and more paranoid so that my box is total secure.

DNS Server using BIND

I thought it would be difficult to setup, but I just done it no sweat. Installed bind9 via debian package manager and all working, took a while to figure to open port 53 UDP for the incoming traffic. I think I still need to put the local zone in, but it basicly works fine for external thing.

Shopping @ Chaddy

I went shopping today with mom. First of all we went yam cha in Taipan, then buy rice at Laguna, followed by shopping at Chaddy. Bought a radio/CD/MP3 player for Mom from Toy’r Us, and then a big travel bag cause they are on sale 35% off from Myer.

Double Date

Wierd dream, some how I was on a date with a girl, and then sitting opposite me is guess who, Leyton Hewitt, what an odd thing. I don’t even like him. So he is probably with Beck or something, and we are on a double date, I don’t think I ever find out who the girl I am dating with.

Computer almost died

Odd thing happened. It all started when I installed some software to rip vcd, then I was about to watch smallville and terminal service back to my main machine. So to do that I had to disable the firewall that comes with the mobo. To my surprise my computer just blue screen and refuse to start after that. I even tried a few more tries with the power being un plugged.
In the end I had to turn the firewall back on. Something is odd.

Opera

I just came back from watching opera at the Art Centre (Romeo Et Juliette). I got free tickets from Eng, so that’s good. But it is soo damn boring, I reckon. The action is slow, cause they had to sing it. The prop is good though, at the opening scene don’t have any expectation, it looks as if they are reflected through glass, because the stage is actually with perspective and the first Act is ball room dacing sort of thing and it is behind a thin veil which makes it looks kinda like a mirror.
After that I was having problem keeping my self awake. Eng fallen asleep during the second act. I manage to keep myself awake right to the end, barely. The second last act seems a bit dragging, Juliet is about to drink the potion, and she just run around and not doing it. The other thing is the subtitle which makes my eyes sore cause I had to glanced at it at the top of the stage, way at the top.

Catch up with Eng

I just came back from dinner with Eng. We went to Num Long on Russel, and ordered some spicy prawn and spicy fish and tofu Hot pot. Taste pretty good. Having a long chat about what she did. Apparently she is working too hard, even on the weekends, she work in restaurant in South bank.
Then the chat trailing off to movies, and apparently she is also downloading stuff of the net. She is very keen on watching Pride & Prejudice.

Soap Mixture

I was in Indo staying with Cien koko as usual. Somehow I was inventing a new mixture of bath gel. It was something like detergent, plus some washing softener, and a few other wierd stuff.

ACC Christmas party

So after desperate attempt to find a date to go with me to ACC Christmas party, I still couldn’t find anyone that are free. So I just go by myself. I drove to the city and park in Telstra Dome, gosh it cost a bucket to park there, I should have waited abit and park on Flagstaff.
So I am there on time and the Midnight express train didn’t move until 7 I think.
The train was an old train, looks more like Hogwarts Express. So I was stuck with Ian, Anthony and the girl from Sydney office. There is a party car next to ours and the bar was at the opposite end. So I start walk there to check things out. To tell you it looks more like a booby party, not that I complain. During the dinner, I was sitting next to Greg Egli and Yvonne, I think that’s her name, Nicole’s sister, who was on holiday here from Adelaide.
