Japan Day 2 (Kyoto)

Tiring but exciting.
We start our day with breakfast in Dormi inn, fantastic breakfast I love the salad sauce & the croissant. They have yogurt as well.
Then the journey start in Namba st. taking the Kintetsu train to Kyoto. First we didn’t know that we had to change at Yamato-Saedaeji st. Luckily the station staff was very helpful giving us a map & showing us where to stop to changing the right train. The journey took about 1.5 hr.
Arriving at Kyoto st. we were lost again, Japan’s train station is huge with plenty of different line criss-crossing.

We decided to follow the walking guide, after getting direction from info office we decided to have lunch in the station area. Lunch was fantastic. We start walking north towards Kyoto tower passing Higashi-honganji temple which are under renovation. Continuing right along to Gojo st, then turning left after passing the Kamogawa river onto Kawabata st. we passed small street trying to absorb the atmosphere then having a quick stop in Kenninji Temple, then walking along a street, very classic street with restaurant on both side, which lead us pass Minamiza Theater. Going north turning right strolling along Shijo st. passing gallery we end up in a bright orange Yasaka shrine. After a short walk and a few photo session we cross the garden moving north passed Chionin Temple along Jingu st.
Stopping at 7-11 for a quick bite we arrived at Heian Jingu Shrine which is also pink, continue west on Marutamachi st. we finally arrived at the humongous garden which encapsulate Kyoto imperial palace. At that time our leg starts to bite, and it was almost 5:30 pm crossing the garden we turn south on heading to Marutamachi st. and taking the train back to Kyoto st.
Having dinner in one of the restaurant again. The food was fantastic, then we are lost again trying to get back to Kintetsu Kyoto line. After circling a few time we found it. Thank god my back & my feet almost give away. After asking the conductor on the right train, we opted to catch the next train just so that we can have a seat. That’s how I can write this. We are one station away from Yamato-Saedaiji st.
